Patrick J. Ryan, C.P.M., C.P.P.


Patrick Ryan is the President of RCG Strategies, Inc. and has worked in the areas of strategy, operations, materials, engineering, quality, legal, customer systems, and business development. He brings over 35 years of experience to clients in North America, Europe, and South America and has been involved with Lean since his first visit to Japan in 1979. He provides clients with expertise in policy deployment, supply chain management, lean manufacturing, total quality management, and new product development.

Examples of client engagements include:

Currently doing Supply Chain Management work with a major aerospace client to assist them in rolling out their Lean Enterprise system for their entire supply chain. This includes performing Lean assessments to baseline the suppliers' current state and assisting the suppliers to create a future state and implement those action plans to achieve the future state. This involves the use of most of the Lean Enterprise tools.

Led a high level team for an aerospace client that created and implemented a corporate-wide Lean initiative for their Lean roadmap to roll out to all plants. This involved working with tier 1 suppliers and third party logistics to fix their systemic processes. Union cooperation was successfully obtained enabling the deployment throughout the corporation.

Engagement leader for a major industrial equipment manufacturer. Helped to establish a continuous improvement office and trained the staff including a corporate university with training curriculums. Created lean training materials and trained their trainers. Client has been able to grow 50+% annually as a result and become the market leader in their industry.

Engagement leader for a major aerospace fastener manufacturer. Created a product Model Line resulting in a 4X revenue improvement in less than one year. Trained the trainers and all employees in the Toyota Production System principles.

Numerous other clients such as machining, plastics, metals, and castings/forgings, in industries such as aerospace, medical devices, consumer goods, industrial goods, electronics, and ship building. This work has consisted of large-scale organizational change and process improvement programs.

Implemented the Toyota Production System (Lean) at a multi-billion manufacturing leader deploying all the lean tools such as: Policy Deployment, Single-piece flow, SMED, TPM, 5S, Visual Controls, Kanban, DFMA, NPD, Jidoka, 3P's, Standard Work, Process Mapping, Value Stream Mapping, Pull Systems, VRP, VA/VE, ABC, SPC, QFD, FMEA, and others.

Led high-level executive study missions to do Benchmarking in Japan and North America for numerous clients providing them with a "best practices" from which to apply their Lean learning's.

Implemented Policy Deployment for numerous clients in a variety of industries enabling them to achieve significant strategic business improvements.

Worked with numerous clients to implement Supply Chain Management systems including supply base rationalization, supplier certification programs, e-purchasing systems, and organizational alignment.

Provides Lean Enterprise training and conducts Kaizens with clients throughout the country to instruct their employees in the uses and application of Lean utilizing a train-the-trainer methodology. Provided clients with the knowledge and expertise to re-engineer their New Product Development processes enabling them to reduce their time-to-market from concept to launch dramatically.

Patrick has served as President of two custom manufacturing companies. He has held positions of President, CEO, COO, Executive Vice-President of Operations, Senior Vice-President of Operations, Vice-President of Procurement, Vice-President of Engineering, Vice-President of Materials, and Vice-President of Manufacturing for several Fortune 100 corporations.

Patrick holds a B.S. in Industrial Management from Washington University and credits for a dual B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and completed the majority of the course work for his MBA. He obtained his C.P.M. (Certified Purchasing Manager) from the National Association of Purchasing Management in 1981 and his C.P.P. (Certified Purchasing Professional) from the American Purchasing Society in 1981, a Tool Design Certificate, was a licensed realtor, and has been listed numerous times in Who's Who editions. Patrick has been published in various trade publications and speaks regularly at Public Conferences on Lean subjects. He is currently in the process of writing his first book on the subject of Hoshin Planning.





Kevin Patrick Ryan

Kevin Patrick Ryan is a consultant for RCG Strategies Inc. Kevin has been consulting for the company since 2004. Kevin brings over 14 years experience to the food service, hospitality, and food manufacturing industries; operations, management and staff training, material management, safety and sanitation, quality, cost control, product development and analysis, culinary computer sciences, and event and location consulting.

Kevin has over 8 years experience in manufacturing and distribution. He was hired on as a Lead and then worked his way through a promotion to become a Floor Supervisor for one of the south's largest window manufacturers, Better Built Windows. There he developed a much needed cross training and safety program. He later was hired by Briggs and Stratton, where he went to work in the Distribution Department. Over the next several years, Kevin spent much of his time working on an inventory management program. There he worked with tier one and two vendors and suppliers in cost reduction, the reduction in SKU's, and Vendor Managed Inventories.

Kevin since has been working in the Aerospace, Defense, Electronics, Medical, and the Commodities Industries. Kevin has been providing clients with an expertise in policy deployment, supply chain management, lean manufacturing, new product development, and total quality management. Since coming on with RCG Strategies Kevin has taken on such projects as developing the companies' website, standings and visibility, and growing the companies' e-commerce 100% in conjunction with Clock Tower Media. He has also been tasked with assisting in the management of the growth in the sales and marketing divisions for the United States and Internationally.

Kevin received his first B.S. in Chemistry while studying Chemical Engineering. He also holds a Food Sciences Degree and has almost completed the courses for his B.S. in Abnormal Psychology and Physiology. He has obtained his certifications in the culinary arts, Cost Control and Analysis, Material Management Training, Hazmat and HACCP Training for Washington State .
